By Kam

Shek Wu Hui was originally a small town in Sheung Shui 100 years ago. It emerged as the commercial center of Sheung Shui when Hong Kong was rapidly developing in 1930s. The streets were laid out in grids and buildings were placed very regularly. There is a park on the west side and a village on the northwest. The vernacular buildings are mainly Shop Houses built in the 40s. They were built with reinforced concrete with all kinds of geometric shape.
